About: Standard micro soldering course
Besides having a large stock in chips and FPC connectors, we are
also an educational institution for phone repair courses.
These courses are given by our own technicians who have over 10 years
of experience in the phone repair industry.
The course day schedule
The 3-day microsoldering course is for phone repairers who wants to take their skills to the next level.
Day 1
On the first day of the course we will go over the basics of micro soldering.
What are important keypoints to look out for when micro soldering. What do you need in order to start micro soldering.
We will go over all the tools and extra necessities.
In this course it is important that you learn to find the faults on a motherbord and know what actions to undertake in order to fix these issues. We will never tell you to simply replace a chip. We always go more in-depth on troubleshooting.
Once we’ve gone over the basics we will start practicing desoldering FPC connectors. After this we will start going over cleaning the pads on the motherboard. Next the pads need re-tinning and we will place the new FPC connector.
The most common FPC problems on iPhone motherboards are:
- Battery FPC connector
- Camera FPC connector
- Volume button FPC connector
- Dock FPC connector
All of these connectors will be covered in the course.
After you’ve got the hang of these actions we’ll move on to the next segment of the course. Which is measuring the resistance of the FPC connector. This way you’ll be able to check if you’re correctly soldered the FPC connector to the motherboard.
If all values are correct we’ll start desoldering an IC chip.
In this course we will also teach you how to control the temperature and airflow.
This is important to prevent components from overheating.
After removing the chip we will clean the pads again.
This is an action you’ll be doing a lot when micro soldering so we will make sure you’ve got the hang of it.
When you’re done cleaning the pads we’ll get started with cleaning the chip. Once that has been completed we will reball the chip using a reball stencil.
These stencils are specially made for reballing chips and are also sold on our webshop.
We’re going to teach you how to perfectly reball the chip. After this you will solder the chip back onto the motherboard.
This is something we will do a few times so you get the hang of it.
We will make sure that there are enough trainers around at all times to help and guide you through the course.
